The 'Unified Pension Scheme' (UPS) was launched
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that this new 'Integrated Pension Scheme' will be implemented from April 1, 2025. The 'Unified Pension Scheme' assures government employees a monthly benefit of 50% of their last drawn salary for life. This new pension scheme will be implemented for about 23 lakh employees (all government employees) who joined the Central Government since January 2004.
